Oahu. a stroll across the beach at sunrise, breakfast in Waikiki, a
hike to waimea falls, and plenty of time snorkeling and basking on a
few beaches on north shore. finished up with sunset and swimming on
sunset beach. wow, we have had a great day!
(disregard the lack of makeup...we're on vacation! these are thebest
shaved ice on the island ...so we hear...we'll let you know once we hit
a few more...)

Hawaii?! I'm jealous. Sounds like tons of fun though and whatever you're eating looks really good right now!

Of course they're the best - it's MATSUMOTO'S! Nothing's better. Anywhere. Oh, believe me, I've searched. They even talk about it on Maui! "Do you have shaved ice around here anywhere?" "yeah. over at such and such place" "Is it anything like Matusmoto's?" "OH - you've had THE GOOD STUFF! No, nothing is like that!" "Ok, thanks..."
The closest we've found is actually not even on Hawaii - it's here, in San Jose. It's called Banana Crepe in Japan Town. A Japanese-Hawaiian family owns it and it's the closest I've found to Matsumoto's. Still, there's something about eating at his shop that just makes it... special.
